The following limitations are known when testing web applications with
Silk Test Classic on
Mozilla Firefox:
Silk Test Classic does not support
Mozilla Firefox 47. However,
Silk Test Classic supports
Mozilla Firefox 47.0.1
Silk Test Classic does not support recording a test on multiple
Mozilla Firefox windows.
Silk Test Classic does not support testing modal browser windows, which are windows that can be displayed with the
window.showmodaldialog command. These modal browser windows have been officially deprecated, and are disabled with
Google Chrome 37 or later, while they are planned to no longer be supported in future versions of
Mozilla Firefox. You can workaround this issue by using low-level actions, for example native clicks with coordinates to click on an object or typekeys to fill out text fields.
Silk Test Classic does not support testing
Silverlight with
Mozilla Firefox.
Silk Test Classic does not support testing some browser dialogs, for example the
About dialog, with
Mozilla Firefox.
Silk Test Classic does not support testing
about:* pages with
Mozilla Firefox.
Silk Test Classic does not support text recognition with
Mozilla Firefox.
Text recognition includes the following methods:
TextCapture
TextClick
TextExists
TextRectangle
Silk Test Classic does not support recording locators on JavaScript alert boxes with
Mozilla Firefox. You can workaround this issue by manually scripting the locators. For example, to click on the button
OK, which has the locator
//PushButton[@caption='OK'], type the following into your script:
Silk Test Classic does not support Java applets for
Mozilla Firefox 48 or later.
Silk Test Classic supports Java applets for
Mozilla Firefox 47.0.1 or prior with the following limitations:
Silk Test Classic does not support the locator
//AppletContainer.
When the applet opens a modal dialog, a locator similar to
//BrowserApplication//BrowserWindow/JDialog[@caption='Information']//JButton[@caption='OK'] might not work. You can use a locator like
//JDialog[@caption='Information']//JButton[@caption='OK'] instead.
Silk Test Classic does not support properties in XPath expressions for
Mozilla Firefox. Only attributes are supported in XPath expressions.
Silk Test Classic does not support the
GetFocus method of the
MoveableWin class.
Silk Test Classic does not support testing applications that are based on
Apache Flex.
With
Mozilla Firefox 48 or later, the
PressKey method and the
ReleaseKey method are not supported.
With
Mozilla Firefox 48 or later, the
MouseMove method of the
BrowserWindow class is not supported.
Silk Test uses the
DomMouseMove method instead.
With
Mozilla Firefox 48 or later, native playback for the following is not supported:
The
Click method with coordinates. Native playback for this method is simulated with JavaScript. Whenever possible,
Micro Focus recommends using
Click without coordinates.
Double-click.
Right and middle mouse button click.
With
Mozilla Firefox 48 or later, the following limitations apply to alert windows:
The
AcceptAlert method with a
text parameter is not supported.
The
DomClick method is not supported on controls that open an alert.
