Testing Microsoft Edge on a Remote Machine

To test Microsoft Edge on a remote Microsoft Windows 10 machine, Silk Test Classic needs to be installed on the remote machine.
  1. On the local machine, from which you want to test Microsoft Edge, add the remote Microsoft Windows 10 machine as a remote location. For additional information, see Editing Remote Locations.
  2. If the Silk Test information service is already running with administrator privileges on the remote Microsoft Windows 10 machine, disable the Silk Test information service.
    1. Sign in to the Microsoft Windows 10 machine as an administrator.
    2. Open the Control Panel (icons view).
    3. Click Administrative Tools.
    4. Double-click Services.
    5. Double click on the Silk Test information service.
    6. If the service shows a status of running, click Stop and wait until the service status shows as stopped.
    7. Change the Startup type to Disabled.
    8. Click OK.
  3. Ensure that the Silk Test information service is running in a user session, and not in the services session. The Silk Test information service requires UI interaction to be enabled. The services session, which is session 0, does not enable UI interaction.
  4. Start the Silk Test information service with medium integrity level, which means without administrator privileges.
    1. Open a file explorer and navigate to %OPEN_AGENT_HOME%/InfoService. For example, C:\Program Files (x86)\Silk\SilkTest\ng\InfoService.
    2. Double-click infoservice_start.bat.
  5. You can now select Microsoft Edge on the remote Microsoft Windows 10 machine in the Select Application dialog box.
